Inflammation and Intestine

It is no secret that a healthy gut is related to high energy levels, a strong immune system and the maintenance of a healthy weight.

Much of our immune system is in the gut and bacteria that help develop immunity. It is intestinal bacteria that help T cells in the immune system to develop, teaching them the difference between a foreign substance and the body’s own tissues.

This is an extremely important process that determines how the immune system responds, and the success of this critical process is determined, in part, by the health of the gut. When there is an error in the process, for example, if there is an overgrowth of bad bacteria, it can cause the body’s immune system to attack its own cells – which often happens in autoimmune diseases.

The inflammation that results from this process can be a chronic inflammation, which installs slowly and arises from constant exposure to elements capable of triggering the inflammatory process, which increases the risk of developing chronic diseases.
