Women's Health
Women’s Health encompasses several areas:
Menstrual issues, menopausal disorders and acute or chronic manifestations, menstrual cramps or irregular menstrual flow. Sometimes they are situations that follow their normal course and are only linked to aging, but in some cases they are a sign of illness and should be taken into account.
Pregnancy and postpartum are normal events in the woman’s life but they deserve attention and care so that both delivery and recovery occur within normality.
With aging, other issues arise, more related to loss of organ support (due to lack of muscle), sometimes causing a sensation of pelvic pressure, difficulty in urinating, loss of urine control or bowel movements (incontinence) or pain during sexual intercourse.
How do we work at Shift Care?
Our investment and focus is on the individual. In our method, we think of the person as a whole: we make a prior assessment, plan the treatment and intervene, combining the areas that, together or individually, best respond to the needs of one.
Thus fulfilling our mission to provide people of all ages and lifestyles with tools to balance body, mind and emotions.
Symptoms that unbalance women's health
PMS: Most of the time, the symptoms that precede menstruation are normal, but when they become unbalanced, they are already part of the premenstrual syndrome and must be treated.
Absence of menstruation: the complete absence of menstruation is normal before puberty, during pregnancy, during breastfeeding and after menopause. At other times, it may be the first symptom of an illness.
Vaginal candidiasis: it is a very common infection in women due to the increase in the population of the fungus Candida albicans, which is normally present in the flora of the woman’s intimate region but which develops a lot in some situations.
Little sexual desire: it may have a psychological or physical origin but it is important to find the cause and resolve it.
Urinary incontinence: loss of bladder control – it is a very common and uncomfortable situation. It can be of effort or urgency and has treatment.
Menopause: Menopause is a natural biological process. But physical symptoms, such as hot flashes and emotional symptoms of menopause, can disrupt your sleep, decrease your energy or affect your emotional health. There are many effective treatments available
Osteoporosis: is a bone disease that occurs when the body loses too much bone, produces too little bone, or both. As a result, the bones weaken and may break due to falls, or in severe cases, by sneezing or small bumps.
Hormonal issues: hormones are the body’s chemical messengers. Produced in the endocrine glands, they help control many of the main processes in your body, including metabolism and reproduction.
