Yoga can be practiced by any person, of any age and in any physical shape.

Through a series of physical postures, conscious breathing and meditation, we align body and mind. We work side by side, but we are transported to a moment of our own.

YOGA CLASSES

HATHA, VINYASA, ASHTANGA, IYENGAR

The main differences between Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga:

Hatha Yoga
– It is considered the classical practice and the basis for other styles;
– Moderate practice, with emphasis on postures;
– Focuses on meditation, breathing exercises (pranayamas) and postures;
– Asanas are held for longer periods of time, usually for at least five full breaths;
– Ideal for all types of practitioners.

Vinyasa Yoga
– More dynamic and fluid practice;
– Asanas are linked through breath transitions, creating a “flow” of movement;
– Less time spent in postures;
– Focus on synchronization between breathing and movement;
– Develops strength, endurance and coordination.

Ashtanga Yoga
– Vigorous and intense style;
– Fixed sequences of asanas, always performed in the same order;
– Use a part of the Vinyasa sequence between the asanas;
– Focus on breathing and energy flow;
– Develops strength, flexibility and concentration.

Iyengar Yoga
– Emphasis on precise alignment and technique of postures;
– Uses various accessories (blocks, belts, chairs) to assist in the correct execution of postures;
– Asanas are held for longer to perfect alignment;
– Focus on precision and details of each posture;
– More therapeutic practice, can help correct specific situations (posture and injuries).

These different approaches allow practitioners to choose the style that best suits their personal needs and goals.
