What is Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is a therapeutic approach to Pilates used by physiotherapists in the rehabilitation of people with injuries or health conditions. It combines physical exercise with physiotherapy, providing specialised training tailored to each patient’s needs.

Clinical Pilates exercises can be performed using equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and Spine Corrector, or on a mat.

HOW THE SESSIONS WORK

Personalised support designed around you.

  • Assessment: At the beginning of the session, a brief assessment is carried out to gather clinical information, review the signs and symptoms described by the patient and assess their posture;
  • Intervention: This is followed by breathing and core activation exercises designed to improve breathing patterns. Exercise sequences are then performed using the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector or other equipment. These sequences are completed slowly and with control, and are adapted to each person according to their condition, symptoms and overall well-being.

The emphasis is not on the number of repetitions but on the quality of movement. Each exercise is performed only a few times, with particular attention to technique and execution.
